Obituary for Howard Hall
Howard W. Hall, 73, of East Palatka, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2015 following an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Putnam County, Howard was raised in the Bostwick and Palatka area. At an early age, he worked at Angel’s until going into the Army. After returning from the service, he went to work at Georgia Pacific, then Hudson Pulp and Paper Company, where he retired after 40 years of service working in the power house. Howard also enjoyed working at his son’s business and as well as fishing and boating and life on the river. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and the IBEW.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bryce Wayne Hall.
Howard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jimmie Turner Hall, a son, H. Briggs Hall and wife Angie of Palatka, a daughter, Monika Harper and husband Arlin and grandson Isaac, all of Satsuma, 3 brothers, LE Hall and wife Barbara of Oak Hill, FL, Troy Hall of Bostwick and Jerry Hall and wife Mary Linda of Bostwick, 2 sisters, Ceretha Lord of San Mateo and Cathy Smith of Bostwick, numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews and his special friend, Leslie Corbin, Jr.
Services will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Don Hanna officiating. Burial will follow at Bostwick Cemetery with the U.S. Army conducting military honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:30 P.M. until the services at 3:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to St. James United Methodist Church, 400 Reid St., Palatka, FL 32177.
