Billy J. Daugherty, 77, of Palatka, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Haven Hospice Satterwhite Campus for Care and Compassion following a short illness. A native of Pikeville, West Virginia, he resided in Putnam County for 10 years coming from Margate, Florida. Billy had worked as a carpenter in the construction industry. He was a Baptist and in his leisure, enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Thelma M. Daugherty, a daughter, Lisa Daugherty and a brother, Bobby Daugherty.
Billy is survived by his wife of 15 years, Debbie Daugherty of Palatka, 2 sons, Billy J. Daugherty and wife Pauline of Ft. Lauderdale and Jason Daugherty and wife Melanie of Detroit, MI, 3 daughters, Betty Ann Wilford and husband Dennis of Thomasville, GA and Kimmy Daugherty and Cheryl Daugherty and several grand and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Dennis Childers officiating.
