Obituary for Charis Sharp
Charis Renee Carmicle, our ‘Chari Bear’ entered into heaven and joined her heavenly family on Dec. 27, 2014. She was born in St. Augustine, Fl and lived her thirty years in Putnam County. Four of those years, Charis served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Truman, as airman assistant in the Mediterranean.
During her years as a student at Palatka High School, Charis excelled as an honor student and athlete playing volleyball and softball. She graduated in 2002. After enlisting, serving in the U.S. Navy, she returned to Palatka. She loved music, painting, and beach time.
In the fall of 2014, Charis enrolled at St. Johns River State College to pursue a degree in graphic design.
Charis will be loved and remembered always by her father, Jakie Carmicle, mother, Elinor McGill, brother, Jeremy Carmicle, and sister, Megan Carmicle.
She adored her two nephews, Mason and Taylor, three nieces, Haile, Tarynn, Cora and her sweet Emma. They will miss her. Life will be diminished by her absence for her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A ‘Celebration of Life’ service honoring Charis Renee will be held in the Johnson-Overturf chapel, Jan. 10, 2015 at 2:00p.m, led by her pastor, Bro. Bill Register. A reception will be held for all family and friends at College Park Baptist Church following the celebration.
