Obituary for Parris Long Alford

Parris Louise Long Alford, 84, of Palatka, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Gainesville Health Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Horry County, South Carolina, she resided in Putnam County since 1956 coming from South Carolina. Years ago, Louise worked in the bag factory at Georgia Pacific. She loved to fish and play bingo and was a dedicated and loving mother in raising her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ebbie C. Alford, 2 sons, Reggie Alford and Wayne Alford, a daughter, Yvonne “Carroll” Feaster and a granddaughter, Regina May.
She is survived by 3 sons, Rick Alford (Peggy) of Palatka, Timmy Alford (Martha) of Keystone Heights and Steve Alford (Debbie) of Palatka, a daughter, Gloria Alford of Williston, 3 sisters, Evelyn Kitchen (Tommy) of Starke, Betty Fowler (Joey) of East Palatka and Mary Ann Fogarty (James) of Garden City, GA, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 13, 2014 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Rev. Glenn Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Etoniah Cemetery in Bardin. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 P.M. at the funeral home.
