Obituary for James Hale

James C. “J.C.” Hale, 73, of Interlachen, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at his home following an extended illness. A native of Mountville, Georgia, he resided in Putnam County for 40 years coming from LaGrange, Georgia. J.C. was an automobile mechanic and had owned and operated his own business, J.C. Tire and Brakes. He had also been the co-owner of a propane gas business. J.C. was a Baptist and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Richard Hale and Jettie Pearl Hill Hale, 3 brothers, Wallace, Ernest and Bonnie Hale and 4 sisters, Mary Railey, Cora Brazell, Blanche Gaston and Miriam McGlamera.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Cecelia “CiCi” Hale of Interlachen, 4 sons, James C. Hale, Jr, Christopher Hale (Tonia) and James T. Hale (Jennifer), all of LaGrange, GA, and Danny E. Bishop of Interlachen, a daughter, Dawn Hale and companion Toni Bellini of St. Augustine, 3 sisters, Nancy Guess (Harold) of Palatka, Joyce Messer of LaGrange, GA and Lillian Bloodworth of Thomson,GA, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 19, 2012 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Rev. Jim Hart officiating. Burial will follow at PineView Cemetery in Interlachen. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
