MARIA   L.  ARROYO 

    Maria L. Arroyo, 79, of Interlachen, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 at her home.  A native of Fajardo, Puerto Rico, she resided in Interlachen since 1996 coming from Newark, New Jersey.  She retired from the Newark, NJ Board of Education after 25 years as a community aid worker.  Mrs. Arroyo was of the Catholic faith.

   She is survived by her husband, Bienvenido Arroyo of Interlachen, 3 sons, Jose Hernandez of Newark, NJ, Luis Hernandez of Cape Coral, FL, Edwin Hernandez of Dallas, TX, a step son, Danny Arroyo of Interlachen, 3 daughters,  Maria Cotto and Lisette Hay, both of Stockbridge, GA, and Diana Gonzalez of Newark, NJ, 3 sisters, Maria Mendez and Delia Pomales, both of Bridgeport, CT and Aida Mendez of Bronx, NY, 12 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

    A vigil service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Interlachen with Father Bob Napier officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2:30 PM till the time of services. 

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.

MY PRAYERS ARE WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY, MARIA WAS A VERY NICE LADY I KNEW HER FROM FAMILY MEDICAL AND I ALWAYS HELPED HER WITH EVERYTHING SHE NEEDED. IT WAS GREAT KNOWING HER AND I WILL REALLY MISS HER. IT'S HARD FOR ME TO BELIEVE THAT SHE IS GONE BUT I KNOW SHE IS WITH GOD AND HIS SPECIAL ANGELS, SHE WILL TRULY BE MISSED
