HERBERT A. WILLIAMS Herbert A. �Herb� Williams, age 66, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Green Cove Springs on March 24, 1942. He was a member of Bostwick Baptist Church where he was a faithful servant of the Lord. He served on numerous committees: the Board of Trustees, building and grounds, usher, and sang in the choir. He was also a deacon for the past seven years. He loved the Lord and loved serving Him. He served in the Florida National Guard for six years (1963-1969). He started in the masonry construction industry in 1964 where he learned the trade from his friend and mentor, Robert Hanak. He was a skilled mason who always took pride in providing quality work and for the past 8 years, he was owner of Tight Line Masonry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaiah & Lillian Williams. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn; son & daughter-in-law, Butch & Jackie Williams of Bardin; daughter & son-in-law, Susan & Shawn Michael of Hollister; grandson, Chad Williams, 3 granddaughters, Ashley Williams, Taylor Michael and Summer Michael, all of whom he loved very much; 3 brothers, Frank Williams & wife, Bonnie, Fred Williams & wife, Linda, Isaiah Williams, Jr. & wife, Jenny, all of Bostwick; 5 sisters, Betty Baker & husband, Ron of Stigler, Oklahoma, Malinda Comer & husband, Sylvester of Palatka, Myrtle Mullins & husband, Kerry of Dade City, Fl., Helen Herbert of Orange Park, and Rachel Cutrer & husband, Greg of Palatka along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 10th at the Bostwick Baptist Church with Bro. David Eddins officiating. Burial will follow in Bostwick Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6:00 � 8:00 P.M. at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka. In Celebration of his life, a memorial video will be shown.
