FLOSSIE S. BAUM 

    Flossie S. Baum, 94, of Hawthorne died Monday, December 22, 2008 at the Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville following an extended illness. She was a native of St. Augustine and resided in Palatka from 1984 - 1997, when she moved to Hawthorne.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Believers Worship Center, formerly the Melrose Church of God.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mattie Rake, a son, Alfred Cyr, Jr., her first husband, Alfred Cyr, Sr., her second husband, Edward �Ed� Baum, and 3 brothers, Harold, Earl, and Clark Rake.

    She is survived by 2 daughters, Martha Fogleman of Hawthorne and Cecilia Joyce of Florida City, a step-son, Wally Baum of Webster, Wisconsin, a brother, Rudolph Rake of Elkton, a sister, Adelaide Stewart of Elkton, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

    Services will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Interlachen with Pastors Robert Dowling and Van Minshew officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Palatka. 

    Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Interlachen.
