JOHN K. HENRY, III   

    John K. Henry, III, age 72 of Palatka, passed away, Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Putnam Community Medical Center.  A native of Pittsburg, PA, he had resided in Palatka since 1982 coming from Ft. Pierce.  He was a member of Pine Tree Road Baptist Church and was a past member of First Assembly of God.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 248 in Ft. Pierce and was a dual member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 3822 of Interlachen and Green Cove Springs.  John was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, being honorably discharged in 1961.  He had worked at Ft. Pierce Power Plant from 1968 until retiring in 1981 and Seminole Electric from 1981 until 1993.  He also worked as a bus driver for Putnam County from 1995 until 2005. 

            He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Betty Henry, step-son, Tom Flatter and wife, Sharon of Palatka, 3 sisters, Ada Blodgett and husband, Emerson of Lake City, Susan Henry of Lake City, Emma �Jeanie� Henry of Jacksonville, 3 brothers, Ted Henry and wife, Mary of Yulee, Bob Henry and Jim Henry both of Ft. Lauderdale, sister-in-law, Bonnie Fowler of St. Louis and several nieces and nephews.

            Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Ft. Pierce.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 18^th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
