ROBERT “BOBBY” BERMAN

Robert “Bobby” Berman, 70, of Murphy, NC, and former resident of Miami, passed away, Saturday, February 7, 2009 at his daughter’s home in Palatka  He was a native of Boston, Massachusetts and had been a part-time resident of Murphy, NC, until moving there permanently in 1994 coming from Miami.  He had owned and operated Famous Cleaners in Miami for many years.  He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of VFW Post 10222 in Murphy.  As his hobby, he enjoyed traveling the country with his wife. 

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Glenda Ellis Berman of Murphy, 2 sons, David Berman and wife, Elizabeth of Miami and Robbie Berman of Comer, GA, a daughter, Jennifer Coburn and husband, Chuck of Palatka, a brother, Harold “Sonny” Berman of Miami, 8 grandchildren and an uncle, Eddie Lynch of Peabody, MA. 

Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Ivie Funeral Home in Murphy, N.C. with burial to follow at Hanging Dog Cemetery, Murphy.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM till the time of services.                                      

Flowers are gratefully accepted or the family requests memorial donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 5021 Silver Lake Dr., Palatka, FL  32177.
