ALMA LEE HANCOCK 

     Alma Lee Hancock, age 77, of Palatka, died Thursday February 5, 2009 at Ponce De Leon Care Center in St. Augustine.  She was a native of South Charleston, West Virginia and had lived in Palatka since 1983, coming from West Virginia.  She had worked for many years as a laundry supervisor with Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.  She attended Southside Baptist Church until declining health and was a former member of the Moose Lodge.  She loved her family very much and enjoyed Country and Bluegrass music.

     She is survived by her daughter, Ann Jenkins of Palatka; her son, Kenneth G. Harless & wife, Lana Kay of Cross Lanes, West Virginia; brother, Bill Beach of Orlando; sister, Mary Lou Hannan of South Charleston, W.V.; 4 grandchildren, Lee Ann Fridy & husband, Herb, Sammy Shane Carte & wife, Michelle, Kenneth David Harless & wife, Honesty, and Chet Alan Harless; 2 great-grandchildren, Herbie Fridy and Davis L. Carte, many nieces, nephews and cousins and her special caregiver, Mary Ann Arnold.

            �To know her was to love her� and she will be greatly missed.

     Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 7th at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Rev. Buddy Lynch officiating.  In celebration of her life, a memorial video will be shown.  Memorial donations can be made to: Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, 6400 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Florida, 32177.
