JOYCE SOLOMON 

Joyce L. Solomon, age 63, of Bostwick, passed away, Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Putnam Community Medical Center following a sudden illness.  A native of Kearny, New Jersey, she had lived here since 1966 coming from New Jersey.  She was a very active member of Bostwick Baptist Church, where she served as an AWANA Leader and nursery coordinator.  She had worked for 25 years at Family Medical Center in Palatka and also taught school at Bostwick Elementary School. She had also worked as a pole worker at the #33 Voting Precinct in Bostwick.  Joyce was a caring person and was always willing to help anyway she could.  She often made special gifts for family and friends in the community.  She especially loved her family and grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Solomon and 2 brothers, Oliver and Gene Garrison. 

She is survived by 2 sons, Peter John Wilkinson and wife, Mary, Edward Solomon all of Bostwick, 2 daughters, Anna Mary Haberle of West Columbia, TX , Leota Lynn Wilkinson and husband, David of Bostwick, 3 brothers, Ralph Garrison of Green Cove Springs, Arnold Garrison of Lincoln Park, NJ, Raymond Garrison of NJ, 3 sisters, Lois Farraro of AZ, Verna Garrison of PA, Myra Garrison of Naples, 11 grandchildren, Christine, Jamie, Alex, Ethan, Dylan, Brandon, Nyna Jo, Lilyan, Thomas Rhayne, Connor Jesse, David, Jr. and 1 great-granddaughter, Jordan Elizabeth.

Services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Bostwick Baptist Church with Brother David Eddins officiating.  Burial will follow at Bostwick Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
