Obituary for James TURNER
JAMES G. “JIM” TURNER
James G. “Jim” Turner, age 66, of Hastings, died Wednesday May 12,
2010 at his home after a short illness. He was a native of
Waterford, Pennsylvania and had lived in Hastings for the past 3
years, coming from West Falls, New York, where he lived for 35
years. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in
Palatka and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He owned
and operated Suburban Floor Sanding in West Falls, New York for 35
years. He worked for the past year as a bus driver with St. Monica
Catholic Church and the previous year he drove a bus with the Putnam
County School System. He loved helping people and was preceded in
death by his mother, Janice Lutz and his father, William Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years,
Janeen Hunsdon Turner of Hastings; sons, David P. Turner of West
Falls, New York, Theodore “Walker” Turner of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin
and Dale J. Turner of Boston, New York; daughters, Jaimie L. Turner
of Perkinsville, Vermont and Daryl J. Turner of Springfield,
Vermont; 2 sisters, Garnette Hallock of Franklinville, New York and
Ramona “Randi” Miller of Texas; half-sister, Tina Hudn of Berlin,
Maryland, half-brother, William Turner of Tampa; step-brother,
Walter Borsa of Pennsylvania; step-sisters, Judy of Maryland
and Shirley of Pennsylvania and 13
grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday May 15th
at the First Baptist Church of Palatka with Rev. Charles T. Rabun,
Jr. officiating. The U.S. Navy will conduct military honors. In
lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: Building Fund of
